Politics Reborn organizers from Queens, NY met with Mayor De Blasio's First Deputy Commissioner of Finance this week to discuss the inequitable NYC property tax. The mayor’s office still insists that it cannot move forward on this issue during the election season. However, there is more confidence than ever that this issue will at least be addressed in the next coming year. The organizers are planning to continue putting pressure on our elected officials to make sure the unfair property tax, which has been hurting lower-income communities and communities of color for more than thirty years, is finally remedied.
